Meet George Robinson

An Atlanta based voice actor and producer with a successful career spanning over three decades. George's love for recording and voice started when he was just 9 years old, gathering friends and using tape recorders his father owned from his private investigative company.

George's first voice over role came while living in Cuba, as a guitarist and singer in various nightclubs. One evening, a man from American Forces Radio approached him during a break, complimenting his voice and the stories he told before each song, asked if he would like to work at the station. This led to George's first job in radio, where his interest in audio production began. “The recording resources were limited at that station, yet I was obsessed with getting just the right sound . I would juggle various record turntables and tape machines to record a 30 second promo filled with sound effects and music in real time. If the smallest thing got out of sync, I would start all over again. Naturally when I eventually worked with multi tracks, or better yet with the advent of digital, today Im in audio heaven.”

After serving in the Navy, George's passion for radio and producing took him to his first civilian radio job in Jacksonville Florida in 1978. Years later George was discovered by a radio consultant and was off to Atlanta Georgia. This was when his carrier took off. Working as a voice for several radio stations and an audio producer for CBS Radio. His talent for creating innovative station imaging, voices and producing commercials and other projects made him an award winning sought-after creative voice and producer.

In the mid 90’s George built his first recording studio inside metro Atlanta and focused on going solo, building his voice over and audio production business.

Recognized as one of the top 5 radio imaging voices in the United States and Canada , George has lent his vocal talent to hundreds of radio and television stations, thousands of products, national TV ads, beloved Cartoon characters, games, television characters, The voice of TBS, Cartoon Network, HLN Crime dramas, Craftsman tools, and the iconic McGruff the Crime Dog, to name a few.

Then a challenging turn of events led to a reinvention of Georges voice career. In 2018, George underwent surgery, which resulted in the surgeon damaging the nerve to his right vocal cord. This presented a unique challenge, limiting the types of voice work George could continue doing. Rather than let this setback deter him, George turned his focus on rehabilitating his voice, rebranding his new sound and expand his skills deeper in audio and video production. “It was tough, I found so much enjoyment doing different character voices and singing. It was like loosing a loved one. However, I come to realize when you change your focus, you can change your life. I decided it was time to help others who love this work as much as I do.

This transition not only allowed George to continue working in the industry he loves, but it also enables him to leverage his decades of experience and expertise to help other voice actors who share in this passion. His dedication to the craft, combined with his willingness to overcome obstacles, make him an invaluable resource for those seeking to launch or elevate their voice-over careers. This lead to George’s decision to create VoiceDemoPro.com.

“A quality produced voice demo is a needed investment. Doing your own demo is not going to produce the same results. These days investing in a voice demo can be challenging. I don’t recommend doing a voice demo unless you are willing to concentrate your efforts into making it work. If you have talent and a desire, with the right voice demo, you will succeed.

I’m very grateful to have built a thriving and rewarding career in voice over, which continues to provide benefits through my past affiliations with Screen Actors Guild and AFTRA, along with the strong relationships with my current voice and production clients.

Due to this limited availability, it's essential to inquire about openings in advance. George is happy to offer a complimentary phone consultation to address any pressing questions you may have about the voice-over industry and producing your demo. If you have questions .
