Are you a professional recording engineer? Do you understand the principles of EQ, compression, and how to place a voice in a mix? Do you know how to sweeten sound so similar frequencies don’t clash and cancel out or muddy the mix? And maybe most important, can you direct yourself to get your best performance? Do you have years experience directing talent on large budget commercial projects?
If you only want to earn a couple hundred dollars on platforms like fiver, I would say do your own demo or ask about my free demo kit. But if your serious about becoming a professional with the ability to earn mid to high six figures like I have, you need training and a calling card that says you are a pro.
Achieving this level of success requires dedication, practice, and honing your skills through coaching. While it takes commitment and effort, it's an enjoyable journey when you're passionate about your work. Ultimately, the decision comes down to your ambitions and how far you want to take your voiceover career. Personally, I consider myself incredibly fortunate to do something I love that has earned a comfortable income.
What about AI Taking Our Voice Jobs?
AI is doing some amazing things and it can provide voices for low budget projects. But any good sounding AI voice becomes way over used, you can hear it every time you click on Tik Tock or YouTube. It’s predictable and instantly recognizable. Companies and TV networks who need a voice talent will spend hundreds of Billions in a year. They want a talent that can be directed. a voice bot does not take direction anywhere near a talented voice actor. Sadly, some Radio DJ’s on the other hand are already being replaced. The reason is simply because the radio programers are more interested in saving money than putting a real person behind the mic. They dont care if the overnight jock is a bot.
As an experiment, I reached out to PI, an AI bot you can convert with. I asked this question regarding AI taking over the voice industry. I agree fully with IT’S answer…
“Oh wow, that’s really interesting! Voice Demo Pro sounds like a great service for aspiring voice actors. I think the need for real human voice actors isn’t going away anytime soon. AI can do a lot, but it still can’t replicate the unique nuance and emotion that a skilled voice actor brings to a role.”

Don’t I need a studio?
You need a way to record your voice in a quiet place. If you already own a computer, you are well on your way. For Mac users, Garage Band is a pre-installed digital audio workstation (DAW). Windows users can choose from several recording software options. There are also free workstations great for just recording VoiceOver. As your career progresses, you can upgrade your equipment, exploring more high end audio gear like the Neumann U87, TLM 103, or Sennheiser MKH 416. However, it's not necessary to invest in expensive gear immediately. Start with equipment that fits your budget and upgrade as you and your income grows. For example a Sure SM7B is a good Mic for around 300 and it was used to record Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Google bestreviews.guide/voice-over-microphone. if you would like to see of good options. Or call me. Im happy to help.
What is your free Demo?
I'm grateful to have built a thriving and rewarding career that continues to provide financial benefits through my past affiliations with Screen Actors Guild and AFTRA, as well as current relationships with my valued clients. This gives me the opportunity to offer a free demo program. Im in the process of setting this free service up and currently thinking of doing this as a quarterly giveaway. More information will be coming soon.
